Barapasaurus tillhörde de första stora växtätarna för cirka 182–200 miljoner år sedan. Trots att dinosaurierna under denna tid var ganska små hade denna en längd på cirka 14 meter.
Description
Barapasaurus not only had a very long neck, their femurs could be up to 1.7 meters long. This gave the barapasaurus the name long-legged lizard. Due to its body size and energy needs, this herbivore had to eat several hundred kilos of food per day. Therefore, it used its teeth as a rake to gather leaves from the trees. Because it could not chew very well with its spoon-shaped teeth, it simply swallowed the food whole.

Barapasaurus was two to three times the size of an adult elephant.
