Brachiosaurus means arm lizard and was a huge herbivorous dinosaur, belonging to the order sauropods and the brachiosaurid family.

Brachiosaurus was for a long time the largest known dinosaur but has now been passed by several other Sauropod genera, including Argentinosaurus, Andesaurus and Paralititan.
