The therizinosaurs belong to the suborder theropods, but were not carnivores, which most of these were. It was heavily built, the legs were short and not adapted to run after prey.
Description
Therizinosaurus had three toes on each front leg, with the large claws at the front. The enormous claws could be up to a meter long and are believed to have been used to pull the leaves and plants it ate, perhaps even to dig up roots. When attacked, the claws likely became a powerful weapon.
