Archimedes is considered one of the leading scientists of classical antiquity, 2000 years ago. He also designed and rewrote a tangram puzzle. It consists of cut out pieces from a square that can be used to make other polygons. This type of tangram is called the Archimedes Loculus. At over 2000 years old, it is believed to be the world's oldest puzzle. What Archimedes didn't know at the time was that without rotations or reflections, there are 536 different ways to put the 14 pieces back into the square frame!
