The largest member of the deer family, moose are massive mammals that can grow over 7 feet tall and are easily identified by their enormous antlers. Native to the colder areas of multiple continents, moose account for the second most injuries caused by an animal worldwide.

Description
The moose shed their horns every year and the new horns grow out of the rose bush behind the eye socket, and their growth cycle is controlled by sex hormones and growth hormone. The horns begin to grow in early spring, and as they grow, they are protected by bast skin that is filled with blood vessels and nourishes them as they grow. Growth is very fast, and measurements have shown that the horns can grow up to one inch per day (about 2.5 cm).
