Beavers always live near streams or lakes. There they build their ponds and huts from branches, twigs and sludge.
Description
History:
The family today only includes the genus Castor with the two species European beaver and American beaver. Fossils have shown that the family once included a large variety of species and genera, including the extinct genus Castoroides with the species giant beaver.
