White Buffaloes are born white for any of four reasons. Some are albino, others are leucistic, a few have a rare genetic trait that allows their fur to stay white a few years after birth, and some have the white Charolais Cattle in their ancestry.

Description Given the importance of buffaloes in Native American culture, it’s no surprise that the white buffalo was considered a spiritually significant and important animal. If a white buffalo was spotted or found, Native American abstained from killing it and instead visited it for prayer as well as other religious rituals.
