Collies are devoted and graceful dogs, and thanks to their unique coats and facial shapes, one of the most easily recognizable breeds. They are members of the herding group because they were originally bred to help shepherds of Scotland and northern England.
Description Collies' origins are Scottish herding dogs of lantras similar to today's border collie. The origin of the name collie is believed to be that a sheep breed with black heads was called colley sheep and the dogs that herded them were colley dogs.
