The Fjord horse is both a working and riding horse, it is a small but strong breed that originated in Norway. Despite its powerful and muscular build, the Fjord Horse has a very calm and gentle demeanor, making it a great horse for first-time owners who want to learn and train.
Description
Horses with ständman like the fjord horse, have been found on runestones that are dated all the way back to the Viking Age. The Fjord horse is sometimes claimed to have been the favorite horses of the Vikings, but in the Viking Age, thoroughbred breeding had not started. It was only in the 19th century that the various local populations of country horses began to be divided into breeds. Until then, the ancestors of the Fjord horses were just a local population of the European landrace horse.
Scientific name: Equus ferus caballus
Characteristics:
Even though they are small, fjords have a huge personality! It is hand painted and crafted with lifelike realism and accuracy. This figure is great as a toy or teaching aid, as a decoration for the whole house or as a gift for a budding rider.
Size and Color:
5.5 inches long and 3.75 inches high. All Fjord horses, including our figure, are colored and have thick manes and tails. Their mane is sometimes cut in a crescent shape to emphasize their robust neck.
