Mankind's fear of deep, dark places may be due to legends about the cave dragons. They can see in the dark, and their scales resemble rocks, allowing them to blend perfectly with their environment.
Description
Long ago, when the large dragon families began to divide into specific environments, the Cave Dragons sank down to the deepest, darkest places on earth. In this eternal darkness they grew larger, their eyes were given the ability to see without light, and they never stopped searching for the earth's deeply buried treasures.
The cave dragons are still wandering in the deepest places - no force could move them from their homes. While the world above ground has changed and become much less hospitable to dragons, the world below ground has remained the same for millennia.
The depths of the world are full of beasts, and the Cave Dragon is the toughest of them all. While several dragon species are the creatures of the night, the Cave Dragon long ago sought the darkest caves as their own.
It was the Egyptians with their uninterrupted digging in the desert sand to create tombs and hide their treasures, who first discovered the horror of the Cave Dragons.
The disappearance of treasures buried in pyramids and other tombs was blamed on simple tomb robbers, but the pharaohs knew the truth.
Other cultures discovered the same phenomenon. From feudal Japan to medieval England, their buried treasures were never secure.
Somewhere deep in the rock, the Cave Dragon has collected piles of jewels, gold and other treasures and protected them in complete darkness, where their green glowing eyes await.
Scientific name: Draco spelunca
Characteristics:
The cave dragon resembles their larger cousin Balrogen. The cave dragon's camouflage is perfect for the dark spaces where they live. Claws, thorns and scales give this figure frightening realism.

Imagine shades of brown and gray that melt in a cave. Now imagine a pair of light green eyes appearing in a particularly dark cave. This is the cave dragon, a 6 ½ inch long animal, 5. Inch wide and 3 ¼ inch high.
