Icarus was a tragic hero in Greek mythology, the son of the inventor Daidalos.
Description Icarus is imprisoned with his father who has fallen into disfavor with King Minos of Crete. Daidalo's wings are then made of wax and feathers for both of them and can fly over the sea. Daidalos warns his son not to fly too close to the sun as it would melt the wax in his wings. Icarus does not listen to his father, loses his wings and plunges into the Aegean Sea where he drowns.
