A worm can live to be ten years old and put on about 7,500 leaves in its lifetime. Out the other end of the worm comes fine, nutritious soil.
Description
1.The earthworm's life begins as an egg, encased in a cocoon. Each cocoon can contain between 1 and 20 eggs, depending on the species, but most have only one egg per cocoon.
2. In the spring, the egg hatches and out come thin, bright earthworms.
3. Gradually they develop pigment and become increasingly darker (depending on the species). When young, the earthworms lack the slightly thicker part of the body called the girdle.
4.Once the girdle has developed, they are ready to reproduce. Earthworms are hermaphrodites and have reproductive organs of both sexes.
Life Cycle of a Worm is part of the Safariology® collection.
All our products are non-toxic and BPA-free
