Most fossils of pteranodone have been found in Kansas, USA. The University of Kansas at Lawrence, USA, has over 480 pteranodone fossils.

Description
History:

The first pteranodon skull was found on May 2, 1876 in the Smoky Hill River, Wallace County, Kansas by Samuel Wendell Williston, a fossil collector who worked for Othniel Charles Marsh. It turned out then that this flying lizard had no teeth, and Marsh gave it the name Pteranodon, toothless wing.
