Description This bat occurs mainly in western North America from British Columbia (Canada) to southern Mexico.
Individuals rest in caves, in other natural cavities and structures created by man. At the resting place, colonies are formed that often have several hundred members. During the summer, before the cubs are born, females form separate colonies. The species prefers dark resting places.
